What’s Funnier Than 24…? 25! SpongeBob Themed 25th Birthday
I’m a big fan of birthdays, so when it came time to throw a surprise party for my boyfriend’s 25th, you know I was gonna go all out. What better theme to kick start the beginning of your quarter-life crisis than SpongeBob?
I started planning the party months in advance because I had to get everything ready in secret without letting Isaac know. Let's just say with his friends' help we totally made it happen. He had no idea.
The Menu:
Krabby Patties: Sliders (I placed a to-go order from Chili’s!)
Sea Snails: Mini hot-dogs
Pretty Patties: Colorful macaroons
Gold Doubloons: Chips + assorted dips
Grandma Squarepants Cookies
Kevin the Sea-Cucumbers + Krab Legs: Cucumbers + baby carrots
Larry’s Lobster Tails: Twizzlers
Patrick Star Bursts: Tropical Starbursts
Coral Bits: Pineapple
Pet Worms: Sour gummy worms
Seaweed Salad: Salad
Chum On A Stick: Corn Dogs
Krabby Patty Gummies (I found these at the Dollar Store!)
I saw tons of options for downloadable pre-made SpongeBob-themed food signs but ended up creating my own on Canva, printing them at Staples, and then using double-sided tape to stick them on these mini buffet signs.
DIY Eels and Escalators Drinking Game
“Now let’s play a nice wholesome game of Eels and Escalators!” This is one of the many iconic scenes from the show. I decided to put my own spin on it and make a drinking game for us to play at the party. I created the entire layout of the board on Canva and then printed it as a poster on Staples online on foam core. Let me just tell you it was a TON of fun and a huge hit, but you will get drunk + you may get sloppy.
